Derek P. Smith,
(M.Sc. Hydrogeology, 1974) is President of DPS International Inc., a firm dedicated to the implementation of high quality international environmental programs. His technical specialties include 39 years of experience in the fields of potable water supplies, sanitation and water contamination, solid and hazardous waste management, environmental impact assessment, environmental business planning, and training. Mr. Smith has worked extensively as a Senior Advisor to the World Bank and the Inter- American Development Bank (IDB), working in more than 20 different countries. Recently he has specialized in re-organizing loans and projects for the IDB, working in Guyana, Jamaica, Barbados, Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. Mr. Smith is a citizen of Canada and the European Community ( United Kingdom ). Mr. Smith speaks English, French and Spanish fluently.
Clara Jimeno, M.A.
Is an international development consultant with 30 years of experience in social and gender analysis. She is an expert in developing social and gender components, of program and projects and developing gender training programs. Her professional experience includes 20 years as a senior consultant with the OAS, PAHO, CIDA, UNIFEM and UNICEF projects. She has 10 years of experience as private sector consultant on social and gender impact of feasibility studies. Her private sector experience comprises a wide range of sectors, among them rapid-bus transit system, rural electrification, export of non-traditional agricultural products, metal-mechanic industry, and garment industry. Clara is a Canadian and Guatemalan citizen and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Charles J Kretch,
Professional Engineer, is an acknowledged Canadian expert in the field of sanitary engineering. He has 48 years of experience as a project manager and design engineer involving urban water, wastewater and drainage projects in Canada, the Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East. His relevant international project experience from 1983 to date include assignments in: Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean Region : seven cities in Indonesia ; six cities in Thailand ; five cities in Myanmar ; Metro Manila and its 16 suburban municipalities in the Philippines ; the three metropolises of Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing; and twenty-one cities in the provinces of: Guangdong; Guanxi; Shaanxi; Liaoning; Jiangsu; Zheijiang; Jianxi; Hunan; Anhui; and Hubei, in China ; Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia ; and the cities of New Delhi, Agra and 15 municipalities in the States of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, the Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Corporation, in Maharashtra State, and Amritsar City in Punjab State, India . He has worked extensively for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank as well as private industry. Charles speaks English and Indonesian.
Timothy Fauquier B.A.
Is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Auditing expert with 32 years of experience in the development, financing, and management of international development projects. He is an expert in the fields of procurement, contracting, and project transparency. His professional experience included 12 years as the Principal Financial Auditor and Chief of the Technical Co-operation unit with the Inter-American Development Bank. Mr. Fauquier also has held senior positions during his career with the Canadian International Development Agency, the Office of Comptroller General of Canada, the Office of Auditor General of Quebec, the World Bank and the International Board of Auditors of NATO. Tim is a Canadian Citizen and is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
